The FieldSmart Fiber Scalability Center (FSC) sets the bar for fiber access, protection and density among outside plant cabinets for PON or cross-connect environments. With the Clearview Cassette as its foundation, the FieldSmart FSC uses the same components as the FieldSmart FDS deployed in the inside plant. This enables service providers to standardize on a single building block, allowing a single fiber management component to be stocked for both environments.
Technicians also have the ease of working with a single fiber management platform regardless of inside or outside plant deployment—saving training and installation time.
Changing the Rules of Fiber Management
The FieldSmart FSC is the complete solution for managing distribution fibers in outside plant FTTx applications. In a PON configuration, the FieldSmart FSC provides up to 288 fibers in a compact 16” x 16” x 32” footprint or 576-ports in a 33” x 16” x 32” design. The FieldSmart FSC PON 1152-Port Cabinet sets the new bar for density, providing up to 1,152 fibers in a 33” X 16” x 64” design. FieldSmart changes the rules of fiber management as splicing is done inside of the Clearview Cassette—allowing services providers to enjoy the cost savings of patch and splice without the hassles of traditional field splicing.
Splitter density is maximized through the user of splitter modules that stack together in a top-loaded splitter cage. These ruggedized outside plant-rated splitters ship with the individual legs pre-parked within a disposable, FieldSmart “Parking Block” for easy and rapid deployment.
The FieldSmart FSC is equally attractive in a cross-connect configuration, as the cabinet supports a user defined feeder-to-distribution ratio without real estate penalty. Utilizing the same cabinet dimensions as the PON alternative, either 432 or 864 feeder/distribution ports can be deployed.
